Saffron is a precious spice, the most expensive in the world. It is a very delicate and precise procedure that is still handmade and in a totally natural way. To obtain 1 g of saffron you need 150 flowers. The flowers are picked every morning at dawn, even if it rains. The spice is then extracted from the flower the same day. Since its foundation, Zaffineria has respected all the biological parameters of the soils production cycle. Applying ethics in agriculture is its mission. Zaffineria runs an annual organic culture cycle, permitting the soil rest 8 years before replanting a new cycle of saffron on the ground. Zaffineria’s saffron is pure and in pistils. No chemicals or pesticides are used in any step of its cultivation. It is totally artisanal and organic. Its quality is excellent. Zaffineria dries its saffron on coals with almond and olive wood.
The final product is therefore the result of an accurate and totally natural process that amplifies the health benefits that the spice gives, its aroma and its taste.
